Our Staff
We believe that one of the keys to a successful center is a strong team of teachers. All of our staff have a love for children, are committed Christians and are experienced Early Childhood Educators.
Each of our staff members meet, and in many ways exceed, the requirements set by the State Licensing Department. In addition, all staff members are certified in CPR, First Aid, and Health and Safety.
We sincerely believe it is both a privilege and responsibility to care for and nurture your child. With complete assurance and peace of mind, parents can entrust their children to our strong team.
Ms. Holly - Director
Welcome to our Carmel Valley Preschool family! I am thrilled to be here! I have worked with preschool age children for over 20 years as a volunteer, teacher, assistant director and director. I am a member of the NAEYC and San Diego Child Care & Development Planning Council. I was born on the east coast but grew up here in San Diego. I live in North County with my husband, our two amazing kids and our puppy. I love spending time together as a family, taking frequent trips to Disneyland, reading, cooking and baking and expanding my knowledge of early childhood education.
Ms. Sheena - Asst. Director
Welcome to CVPS! My name is Ms. Sheena and I have worked at Carmel Valley Preschool since 2007! I taught TK & Pre-K classes for many years before transitioning to the office to assist our Director in 2016. I graduated in 2002 and received my Associate's Degree from FIDM, but it wasn't until after I completed Bible School and volunteering in Kids Ministry (Kinder-5th) that I knew teaching was always a passion of mine. I am married and have two sweet and silly children who both attended CVPS when they were little ones! When I am not at school, I love spending time with my family, going to Disneyland just for the snacks and volunteering at my church with the music and creative arts ministry. I have been blessed with the opportunity to watch every child learn and grow each day.

MS. GINA
I was born in Hawaii and been living in San Diego for over 25 years. I’ve been happily married for over 20 years. I’ve been working with children for the past 16 years; ages ranging from infant to school-age and see myself surrounded by children for the rest of my life.
I have received an AS degree in Child Development and am working on my B.S. degree in Human Development. I am truly grateful to be given the opportunity to work with such priceless little ones and being able to see their smiling faces.

MS. RENEE
I’ve been a teacher with Carmel Valley Preschool since 2010, and I’ve taught in every classroom here, and enjoy working with all of the teachers and staff. I currently teach a 3 year old class. I have a degree in ECE and interned at the preschool in the Pre-k classroom at Miramar College. I have also taught 4 years at a private preschool in Tucson, AZ and took additional early childhood education classes at Pima College.
In my spare time I enjoy writing everything from blogs to children’s literature. I also spend time doing volunteer work with a family shelter in Oceanside helping in their women’s housing project and various auxiliary projects.
Hello! My name is Mrs. Irma and I joined CVPS in May 2022. I have over 15 years of experience working with children. Prior to CVPS I worked at a private preschool, owned my own daycare and worked as an ABA Therapist. I have my AA in Child Development and my Bachelors in Early Child Education from National University. On my free time I love spending time with my husband and my two children going to the beach and find new things to do around San Diego. I like to have a little quiet time and do crafts and travel with my family and friends.
MS. ERICA
I have been teaching at Carmel Valley Preschool since 2011, and I teach a full day Pre-K Class.. Prior to working at Carmel Valley Preschool, I taught ceramics to Kindergarten thru 5th grade at Creekside Elementary for 7 years.
My passion for teaching academics to young children is inspired by the amazing developmental stages and growth that take place within a school year. So many accomplishments to celebrate in little hearts and minds! I have been blessed to have an amazing husband whom I love to spend my free time with, along with 4 incredible boys and 2 girls.
MRS. DANA
My name is Mrs. Dana and I am new to the CVPS team. I am married with three children (2 boys and a girl). We moved to San Diego from Jacksonville, FL in 2019. I graduated from the University of North Florida with a BA in Education in 2009. Since then, I have taught both preschool 3's and 4's and pre-kindergarten. I have worked with children since I was 15 years old, including working in a children's museum. When I am not teaching I love spending time with my family. We are still discovering all the fun things to do around San Diego.
MS. N
My name is Noorjahan and I am known to the kids, staff and parents as "Miss. N". I was born in India and received my Masters in English Literature. I moved to San Diego around 2014. I started volunteering at my son’s school as a kindergarten room mom. I volunteered at various clubs like Math, Science at the grade levels of Elementary and Middle. That made me realize my passion for working with kids. I have studied Childhood Development at Miramar college. I have been working with kids at different schools as a substitute teacher for kids of age starting from infant to preschool age. I love being with kids and enjoy teaching them in a nurturing way. I always get amazed by how kids are able to remember me when I visit a school after so many days of gap. I am blessed with two amazing kids, a girl and a boy who are seniors at High school and Middle school. Science is my favorite subject. In my free time, I love going to the beach. I love cooking cuisines from various countries and dancing. I am excited to join Carmel Valley Preschool and be part of this friendly family.
MS. BRIANNA
I have been working with children for 20 years, and have been on staff at Carmel Valley Preschool since 2004. I have worked at Carmel Valley Preschool in a variety of positions. It is amazing to watch them grow both physically and academically over the year. I love seeing how proud our students are as their speech expands and they accomplish potty training!
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development from San Diego State University. In my free time I enjoy going on walks, seeing a movies, and spending time with my family.
Hi I am Ms. Gina and I am from Northern California. I moved to San Diego about two years ago, and I love it here! I have worked in childcare for five years as a nanny and as a daycare assistant. I have a passion for early childhood education, and I am so excited to be teaching at CVPS. I have my associates in child and adolescent development and I attend Cal State San Marcos where I will be obtaining my bachelors. I plan on receiving my teaching credential and teaching at an elementary school. When I am not in school I love going to the beach, taking walks, reading, and exploring new restaurants and coffee shops!

MS. MICHELLE
Hello! My name is Ms. Michelle and I recently joined CVPS in 2021. I attended Miramar college in SD, where I studied Family and Child Development. I have worked with preschool-aged children for 7 years as a director and Sunday school teacher in kids ministry at my church. I have passion in teaching in young children and truly enjoy spending time with them. I have been married for 14 years and have two boys. Both of my children happily attended and graduated from CVPS, and we have wonderful memories.
It is such a blessing to be back as a teacher! I believe in learning through play philosophy and will support the children experience new challenges that will help build their confidence while they play. I will endeavor to build a loving environment where children will learn and grow kind-hearted and strong-minded. I enjoy photography, art, foods, travel, music, dance, and spend time with my family and friends!
MS. SONGJU
Hello! I'm Ms. Songju and I am excited to be teaching TK this year! I have been working at CVPS since 2018.I graduated with a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education and worked as a preschool teacher in Korea for 10 years. I obtained a child development certificate from San Diego Mesa College. I have been married for 14 years and have a 12 year old daughter. She is in her first year of middle school and a huge fan of BTS. She was also in TK during her time at CVPS so this class holds a special place for me and all it's memories.
I like cooking, baking and traveling with my family.
MS. NEDA
My name is Ms. Neda and I have been a photographer for 8 years and I am new to the CVPS team. I am married and have one daughter. I love spending my time with my family and friends and I love traveling. We recently immigrated to the US and I am very happy with my career choice as a teacher. I am excited to be team teaching with the 3's classroom with Ms. Renee.
MR. MARK
Hi! My name is Mr. Mark and I have been working at Carmel Valley Preschool since 2018. I have graduated from Point Loma Nazerene University and one of my goals is to become a Child Development Professor in the future. I have many years of experience working with children as the Children's Director at People's Church San Diego.
I enjoy art, photography, foods and traveling. When I am not at school I like to explore different places, go hiking and play volleyball.
